Your updated DPI will appear here

The result keeps the same pixel dimensions and updates supported density metadata.

  • Real Metadata Update

Writes JPEG density fields or the PNG pHYs chunk and verifies the result.

  • Pixels Stay the Same

Changing DPI does not resize or invent image detail.

  • Private in Your Browser

The selected file never needs to leave your device.

  • Print-Size Check

See the physical size implied by the pixels and target DPI.

DPI changes print size, not screen detail

A 3000 × 2400 image at 300 DPI is interpreted as 10 × 8 inches. The same pixels at 150 DPI are interpreted as 20 × 16 inches. If you need more pixels, use the image resizer; if you only need to inspect the existing value, use the image DPI finder and size checker.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does changing DPI improve image quality?

No. DPI metadata changes the intended print density and physical print size. It does not add pixels or recover missing detail.

How do I change an image to 300 DPI?

Upload a JPG or PNG, choose 300, click Change DPI, verify the result, and download the updated file.

Will the pixel dimensions change?

No. The tool preserves the source width and height in pixels while updating supported density metadata.

Which formats support DPI editing here?

This tool supports JPG/JPEG and PNG. WebP density metadata is not handled because software support is inconsistent.

Is my image uploaded?

No. Reading, writing, verification, and download preparation happen locally in your browser.
